Character Creation
About Characters in Irithia
- All characters must be submitted to Admins via the Character Creation Form found within server and be approved by Staff. We also ask that a "Public Profile" be posted in the proper channel of the server before you are permitted to play.
- The World of Irithia allows only Original Characters. Adaptations or blatant rips of canon characters from other media will not be accepted. Of course, taking inspiration from other media to create something new is perfectly acceptable.
- For now, only one character is allowed for use in Irithia. However, Staff and Narrators will be afforded some leniency for storytelling and management purposes.
- Only 3 of a Player's characters may be active at a given time. In order to keep track of a player’s characters, we have a Shelving System. Once a player has 3 characters active, they will be asked to “Shelf” a character before any more are approved. You can have as many characters on your shelf as you would like, however they MUST remain shelved for one full week (7 days) before they may be removed from the shelf into play once more. Once again, Staff and Narrators may be afforded leniency at Admin discretion.
- In order to play a character of a special role (such as half breeds, nobility, etc.) a member must have been an active member for at least 2 Activity Periods (4 weeks) and have been approved to take the role by Staff BEFORE submitting the character. Please note that these characters, as they are limited and often influential, are reserved for those who wish to dedicate themselves to the role and will remain active with the characters. Those who do not remain active or abuse these roles may lose their privilege to hold these parts and have their characters revoked to be rewritten.
- The magic section is a particularly important area of a character. If your magic section does not include the appropriate information needed (hopefully in a proper format) we will be unable to accept your character.
- Once your character has been submitted, message ModMail in oyr server to ping us and start the character approval process! Staff will look it over and discuss details with you. Once your character is approved, please post a public profile for them in the appropriate channel of the server!
- Please be sure to utilize the website as you make your character! Pages like the FAQ and this one will be particularly helpful to you in this process. If you're still confused or there's information not listed, just ask Staff! We'll be glad to help you out. If we feel a character sheet has been submitted with very low effort and needs a lot of work done in order to be approved we may ask you to start from scratch and resubmit altogether
Player Tip:
Character Creation Guide
The following section will help to ease the process of character creation! If you still have questions or wish to talk out some of your ideas, please reach out to Staff!
Note: We are looking for characters to begin balanced and at a starting level. Your character cannot be a prodigy or master by any means, leave room for development and building on in the roleplay.
Remember, a character can be unique and special in more ways than just ability or rarities.
Member Name / Discord
Probably the easiest part of the form! Please use your Discord name or whatever nickname you use within our server! This helps us keep track of what characters belong to who, and who to contact for the approval process.
Full Name, Aliases or Nicknames
Name your character and give us anything those close to them may call them or that they may introduce themselves by!
Race
Irithia has several inspired but unique races for you to choose from for your character. Check HERE to get an overview of them and, once you have chosen, use that race's information page to guide you in the rest of the character creation process. (If you have been approved to create a Halfling character, please reference pages of both their bloodlines.)
Titles or Ranks
If you have been approved to play a character of some status, be sure to list this here. You may also use this space for more private/familial things.
Age (and apparent age if applicable)List your characters true age as well as the age the physically appear as (in human terms, as best as possible).

This should include tattoos, scars, piercings, and other things of that sort. It may also include any racial traits they may have that give them perks or may be strange for their race.

Points in their personality which are positive and negative respectively. We prefer these sections are fairly balanced in number and extremity of the traits listed as it helps to keep characters interesting! For the following, please make sure to reference the Magic page.
Elemental Alignment
The element which your character is most connected to and is considered aligned with.
Please remember that it is incredibly rare and difficult for this choice to be changed later if you do not begin Null. Your character's element will affect how their magic will manifest itself and, even for those with no magic yet or at all, can influence their strengths and weaknesses against other elements.
The specialized forms of element are more rare to have naturally, but still possible. Please note that having multiple alignments is indicative of higher magical skill or affinity and that even in these cases one must be chosen as the 'primary', or Core, element.
Please also remember that even those who do not have any magic or magical affinity (including Troks) must have some alignment listed, even if it is Null.

Notable Attributes
Special traits or innate abilities which your character may have due to their elemental alignment. Obvious/Default ones like their weakness or strength over certain other elements or anything super basic need not be listed.
Magical Application Slots
This is where you will describe your character's magic and how it works. Please be detailed and use a proper, easy to read format in order to ensure it can be understood and make sure to include all of the information needed.
Remember:
- Rare Applications require Admin approval ahead of submission.
- Arts take up both Slots!
- Anything not included in this section will not be allowed or left to Staff interpretation, so be specific and detailed but straightforward!
To complete the information for these sections each slot should include one magical application, the spells/abilities which your character can do with them, a description of those, and limitations that affect these specific uses.
Here is a template for how to effectively lay out your magic for this section:

Application Type
*Spell 1: Description of exactly what the spell can do, including it's limitations and specifications.
Ex.
Elemental Alignment: Fire
Slot 1 : Combat -

Magical Limitations
Describe, in full, limitations to your characters magical ability as a whole. These should apply specifically to the character at hand (as opposed to being things which apply to magic use in general or come with their element/magic type in the first place) as well as being able to cover/affect both their current magic as well as any they may learn in the future. Please do not use this section to provide limitations for their spells as those should be listed in the section above instead.
Limitations that can be trained away, fixed, or are morality/personality based can be explained here but will not count toward helping to balance your character. If you're having trouble, consider your character's Elemental Alignment and consider what things or circumstances could affect it negatively and make it difficult to use.
