Troks
The Troks are an angry people who remain very secluded in their few underground cities. Choosing to interact with almost exclusively their own people and hardly ever coming to the surface unless they absolutely must, they have evolved to have very poor sight and make up for this with a sort of echolocation. Due to their self-sufficient ways of life which involve farming deep in the ground and further tunneling or upkeep of their caverns, they have also become extremely physically fit and most of their people have extremely bulky, muscular forms.

Physical Attributes
Big boned and broad shouldered, Troks are muscular but somewhat squat and are by no means attractive the conventional manner. On top of their awkward, box-y frames they have rather large hands and feet. Though one may expect them to be pale due to their time spent underground, many Trok spend a great deal of time with fire and so end up with some awkward "tan". Even those who do not are generally too covered in coal and dirt to see their skin anyway.
They are a hairy people, often growing large beards and a great deal of body hair. Even the women seem affected to an extent, their hair growing out to be fairly long and even sometimes having some lighter patches across their own skin. Seeing as they take a special sort of pride in their hair, it is rare for them to have it cut or trimmed in any way but instead groom it well and braid or tie back parts of it to keep it from becoming a hindrance. Longer hair and beards are a thing to be proud of for the Troks, and so it is often a way to measure up between fellow members of the race.
Their clothes are generally extremely simple, cloth or leather tunics and furs or such similar things which are easy to move in and pressed or shaped metal to accessorize and act as armor. Particularly nice stones or trinkets of metal may be shaped and adorn their hair or clothes. For the most part, they end up very modestly dressed, rarely showing any skin aside from their faces, hands, and often bare feet.
Though Troks have no magic and blurry vision, they are extremely physically strong and can lift great amounts. They also have a unique sort of echolocation, using their booming voices to help them get a feel for their surroundings and sometimes even startling foes.
For the Troks, their natural lifespan is around 80 to 100 years old, many expiring around the lower end due to the conditions of life underground.

Government and Military
The Trok people have a very casual system of governing themselves with just one King to rule the lot of them, but who does not have a total hold of power aside from the loyalty of his people. Though they do have small clans among the whole of their race, for the most part they act as a loose unit working together to do as they need to function and survive.
The Trok King's power, though he is technically their sole leader, only goes so far as the loyalty of his people. Though he can gain his following in a number of different ways, a well-liked or greatly feared King tends to have the most affect over his people and accomplish the most during his reign.
Any sort of structure in Trok society is very relaxed and loose, held together by loyalty and sense of duty at best. Even the Trok's 'military' is unofficial and made up of those who have volunteered to take part. Though most of their people are expected to (and would) take up arms if expected to, there are those who have made their main task to act as the Trok Army, often referred to as Troklodites.
The Troks have fairly light armor so as not to restrict their movements, usually consisting of thin, lightweight metal or leather. Traditionally, Troklodites carry a round shield and more simple, heavier weapons like a sword, battle ax, or even a spear. These weapons are generally made of metal, wood, and leather - much like their simple armor pieces.

Social Structure
Trok society is more or less communistic, all acting - though they don't seem to be forced to by anything other than their own ideals- to keep the entire group alive and thriving. All who are capable work doing one task or another, often rotating jobs from day to day aside from those more specialized jobs like medical care or acting as a soldier.
They are a hard-working but fun-loving people, often making their work fun through friendly competition and working songs which have been passed down from generation to generation. Their greatest creation- at least in their own minds - is their ale which they enjoy in healthy amounts. Troks all seem to know each other, even if not directly and just from what they have heard from others. Gathering around and telling tales is common, and they are a gossipy sort of people.
They are a very patriarchal society who base the worth of their people on the ability to do traditionally masculine tasks well and on the ability to keep up with one another. Men and women are generally expected to follow traditional gender roles, with women who give birth and are good mothers being put on equal footing as warriors. Despite this, women who fight as warriors are treated with varying respect and opinions on whether this is acceptable change from Trok to Trok.
